Also includes prim eyelashes, a facelight, stockings and gloves. Moeana’s outfit may be worn as an elegant long gown or as a short modern faery dress.

Moeana is an elegant sunrise faery queen, created with soft pink tones and sparkling pink faery makeup. Her

Mahara Night Faery Queen is a complete avatar, with custom fae skin, fantasy makeup, shape, hair, eyes, ears, cloak, sculpted shoes, faery gown, faery wreath, faery dust, and scripted flexi-wings. Mairi Obsidian Faery Avatar is a complete avatar, with Obsidian faery skin, Obsidian faery hair, Obsidian faery eyes, faery ears, faery outfit , scripted Obsidian faery wings, faery dust,  and Obsidian shoes. I also included a facelight.

Mairi is fun and friendly, and a little shy. Like her friend Minako, she comes out at dusk, and roams the forest from dusk until dawn. Mairi serves in Mahara Night Faery Queen’s Court, and is often seen in the company of her brother Matahuira, the male Shadow faery.

I also included a facelight. Minako comes out at dusk, and roams the forest from dusk until dawn. Minako serves in Mahana Night Faery Queen’s Court, and is often seen in the company of Mairi, the Obsidian Faery.

Marama Female Drow Special Autumn Edition is a complete avatar, with custom drow skin, shape, hair, 3 pairs of eyes, custom Autumn cloak, Olive and Gold Autumn outfit, drow ears with spider earrings,  decorative weapon, and a fabulous set of customized boots in Olive Green and Gold.  Note that the short sword is not scripted, but it is modifiable so you can add a script if you like.

Regular edition Marama comes with purple lips, outfit and highlights; the Special Winter Edition is all blue, with blue lips, outfit, and highlights, the Special Summer Edition is Dark Red, and the Special Autumn Edition is Olive Green and Gold.

Introducing two new exotic role play female avatars, Mitiana and Mehura. Atea Avatars Exotic Role Play Female avatars are exotic warriors who travel distant lands and adapt their style to the local traditions. They are trained in the use of weaponry and skilled in fighting, but prefer to charm their way through the worlds. Mitiana and Mehura are equally at home on the battlefield and dancing in court.

The Atea Avatar Male Nekos are sexy tomcats with angora ears and tail. Sophisticated and cosmopolitan, they are known to roam the city at night. Intelligent and articulate, these nekos possess the finest qualities of the feline persuasion.

This has been a busy time for Atea Avatars as we expand into fantasy markets and participate in some of the many fantasy fundraising events happening during this time of year.

One of the events we attended at the end of May was the wonderful Mystical Festival hosted by Lyr Lobo. The Mystical Festival features some of the best build classes I have taken in Second Life, along with concerts, games, and activities. This was the third annual event and the third festival I have attended! In 2007 I met the first Isle of Wyrms dragon I saw in Second Life at the Mystical Festival, the majestic Skylarian Isachenko, who will be a contributing author to this blog.

All proceeds from the Mystical Festival events benefit Relay for Life in the fight against cancer. I created a special faery for the event, the Mysti Summer Faery. All of Mysti’s sales benefit Relay for Life. Mysti is currently available for purchase at the Qissence main store and in some of our fantasy market shops.

The interesting thing about creating avatars in Second Life is that I never really know which avatar might appeal to Second Life residents. Sometimes I create an avatar that I personally love but for some reason isn’t really popular and doesn’t sell well. Other times, I create an avatar or a series that appeals to a broad audience or attracts a niche. In the case of my fantasy avatars, the faery queen series is quite popular.

Before making the faery queens, I made a very basic faery that I called Maeva.

She was my first attempt at a fantasy avatar and, though lovely, nowhere near as complex and interesting, in my mind, as the faery queens.

I was actually going to retire her after releasing the faery queens. However, one of my customers talked me out of that, explaining that she was a great starter faery for newcomers to fantasy avatars. Here’s the interesting part: once the faery queens went up and attracted a strong following, little Maeva also started to attract a following of her own and became a very popular item.

I thought it was time to create a few sisters for Maeva. Here there are:

Theo is a sophisticated gentleman who is equally at home in Aspen and the Swiss Alps. You might find him at the opera in Vienna, at the Biennale in Venice, at the latest art opening in Manhattan, or lounging at the beach on his favorite tropical island.
