Introducing three new male neko complete avatars: Max Black Cat Neko Male Avatar; Martin Brown Cat Neko Male Avatar and Manu Red Cat Male Neko Avatar. The Atea Avatar Male Nekos are sexy tomcats with angora ears and tail. Sophisticated and cosmopolitan, they are known to roam the city at night. Intelligent and articulate, these nekos possess the finest qualities of the feline persuasion.

Martin Brown Cat Neko Male Avatar

This is a complete avatar, with a custom neko skin, shape, neko hair style, amber neko eyes, scripted chestnut angora neko ears, scripted chestnut angora fluffy neko tail, a designer outfit with black leather jeans, a brown leather jacket, and a brown learther Jacket with a white shirt, gloves, tattoos, face piercings, and neko boots. I also added an extra pair of black leather pants, and a facelight.

Manu Red Cat Neko Male Avatar

This is a complete avatar, with a custom neko skin, shape, neko hair style, red neko eyes, scripted red angora neko ears, scripted red angora fluffy neko tail, a designer outfit with black leather jeans, a black USA jacket, and a black USA Jacket with a white shirt, gloves, tattoos, face piercings, and neko boots. Mimi is a complete avatar, with 2 custom neko skins (one with frosty blue lips, the other with pink lips), prim lashes (one black pair, one white), shape, 3 hairstyles, clear ice spice and grey neko eyes, scripted white angora neko ears, scripted white angora fluffy neko tail with black tips, three designer outfits, neko pawprint tattoos for her thighs, stomach and breasts, a below the lip face piercing, and sexy boots (2 pairs, one blue, one white). “Real Life” projects have been keeping me busy, but I did manage to complete the lovely Mei Lin.  This is a complete avatar, with a custom Eurasian skin and shape, 2 hairstyles, black and brown eyes, a sleek black outfit with boots, a short sexy lace dress, and a silver necklace with earrings. Mei Lin is a lovely Eurasian female, comfortable in both Asian and European cultures. She is well educated, well traveled, and speaks a few languages. Sometimes Mei Lin likes to wear edgy sleek looks. At other times she prefers a softer style.

I have also been working on expanding the store, and now have two stores side by side – one for the human avatars, the other with the fantasy collection. Stay tuned for photos from the expansion.

This has been a busy time for Atea Avatars as we expand into fantasy markets and participate in some of the many fantasy fundraising events happening during this time of year.

One of the events we attended at the end of May was the wonderful Mystical Festival hosted by Lyr Lobo. The Mystical Festival features some of the best build classes I have taken in Second Life, along with concerts, games, and activities. This was the third annual event and the third festival I have attended! In 2007 I met the first Isle of Wyrms dragon I saw in Second Life at the Mystical Festival, the majestic Skylarian Isachenko, who will be a contributing author to this blog.

All proceeds from the Mystical Festival events benefit Relay for Life in the fight against cancer. I created a special faery for the event, the Mysti Summer Faery. All of Mysti’s sales benefit Relay for Life. Mysti is currently available for purchase at the Qissence main store and in some of our fantasy market shops.

Gosh, it’s hard to believe that May 1st has come and gone. Where did the time go? I’ve been busy continuing the expansion of the Atea Avatars faery forest. On Friday SomethingReal Atkey from Artisan Prefabs dropped by to create some steps and sidewalk to connect an expansion to the main store. He also customized the expanded store for me. It’s still a work in progress.

I also added a Treehouse to the grounds as my private home. Marion Lean of Blue Pearl Homes and Furniture is one of my favorite home builders in Second Life, and this is one of his designs.

I haven’t quite finished furnishing the interiors, but started with a fabulous leather living room suite by Candace Hudson, who does some of the best texture work in SL. She has been one of my favorite furniture designers in SL for quite a while. Here’s a shot of the living room in progress:

One of my fondest additions to the faery forest is the dragon tea party from Julia Hathor from Creative Fantasy. What a fun, imaginative piece of work!

On the avatar front, I’ve been wrapping up some avatars that I have been working on this spring. I have two more ready for the ladies, and will hopefully complete my male avatars in progress soon.

Moira is a sexy modern girl next door. This is a complete avatar, with a custom freckled skin, 3 hairstyles (one with biker scarf, one with a hat), natural brown eyes, three designer outfits, sneakers, shoes, and earrings.

Miriama Elegant Evening Female Avatar

Miriama is a lovely female dressed for an elegant night on the town. She comes with an exquisite golden ballroom gown with gold shoes; an elegant red flamenco gown with red shoes and traditional hairpiece, and a lovely blue gown with matching shoes.

The interesting thing about creating avatars in Second Life is that I never really know which avatar might appeal to Second Life residents. Sometimes I create an avatar that I personally love but for some reason isn’t really popular and doesn’t sell well. Other times, I create an avatar or a series that appeals to a broad audience or attracts a niche. In the case of my fantasy avatars, the faery queen series is quite popular.

Before making the faery queens, I made a very basic faery that I called Maeva.

She was my first attempt at a fantasy avatar and, though lovely, nowhere near as complex and interesting, in my mind, as the faery queens.

I was actually going to retire her after releasing the faery queens. However, one of my customers talked me out of that, explaining that she was a great starter faery for newcomers to fantasy avatars. Here’s the interesting part: once the faery queens went up and attracted a strong following, little Maeva also started to attract a following of her own and became a very popular item.

I thought it was time to create a few sisters for Maeva. Here there are:

I am delighted to announce the release of my new male avatar, Theo.

Theo is a sophisticated gentleman who is equally at home in Aspen and the Swiss Alps. You might find him at the opera in Vienna, at the Biennale in Venice, at the latest art opening in Manhattan, or lounging at the beach on his favorite tropical island.

I’ve finally finished the Faery Queen series I have been working on this fall. The Atea Avatars Faery Queens are elegant, sophisticated faeries who command their realms and hold dominion over forests and waters, fire and air, dusk and dawn, and the turning of the seasons.

Each Faery in the series is a complete avatar, with custom fae skin, fantasy makeup, shape, hair, eyes, ears, cloak, sculpted shoes, faery gown, faery wreath, and scripted flexi-wings. Also includes prim eyelashes, a facelight, stockings and gloves. The faery queen outfit may be worn as an elegant long gown or as a short modern faery dress.

I’m delighted to introduce my new avatar, Maera, a beautiful full figured female.

This is a complete avatar, with skin, shape, hair, eyes, prim eyelashes, outfit, and ankle boots. Maera also comes with a lovely set of lingerie, a silver heart pendant, earrings, and facelight. Oh, and I included a set of red hair in case you feel like being a redhead. Maera is a beautiful full figured woman who is comfortable in her body. She isn’t interested in looking like the barbie type avatars out there, but rather, enjoys living her Second Life in a comfortable, realistic body that feels like her own. Maera is smart, funny, and sophisticated with the occasionally wicked sense of humor.
