It has been a while since I’ve had a chance to post about what’s happening at Atea avatars. I have been extremely busy this year with my real life work, revising college courses in digital art and design as well as digital storytelling, and proposing new courses in areas such as media arts and the history and theory of new media. This means that I have had far less time to focus on avatar creation. My in-progress file has been holding a number of new characters. I have been working on them in small doses over the past year as time allows.

I’m delighted to announce I was particularly productive over the memorial weekend, and as a result have been able to graduate a number of new avatars from my work in progress. I’m pleased to announce my new elf series, which includes six new female elves and six male elves.

These complete elf avatars come with a custom skin, elven shape, elf ears, eyes, two hairstyles, and a complete outfit with shoes.

Atea Avatars has been having a delightful Spring participating in the FFC Fantasy Faire and the Isle of Wyrms Spring Festival. It is always a pleasure to support Relay for Life and St.Tiggywinkle’s Animal Hospital.

I am delighted to introduce my new creation, the female elf Mereana. This is a complete avatar, with custom elf skin, elf ears, a platinum elven braid, platinum elven curls, eyes, outfit, and shoes. I also added facelight. Mereana is a forest light elf, who is most at home surrounded by trees, streams, rocks and plants. She occasionally ventures out into the outside world.

Mereana’s shape and outfit are fully modifiable. Her custom skin is copy only. Mereana is currently on sale for a limited time at a very special gift price.

I’m delighted to announce the release of a new type of fae that I have been working on for quite some time now. This series is more reflective of the deep fae of ancient magic times, folkore and mythology, and high fantasy in literature than the type of fae you find in popular animated films or faery tales.

Metua is the first of a new fae series for Atea Avatars. This is a complete avatar, with custom fae skin, fantasy makeup, fae shape, hair, fae eyes, fae ears, genitals, antlers, loincloth and staff.

Metua is a very ancient woodland fae created in wood tones with forest marking on his body and face. He blends in with the woods, moss and mists in the deep forest.

I have also created my first elf, a luminous male, and will be following up with female elves in the future. Mana is the Tahitian word for power or lifeforce. Mana is is a forest light elf, who is most at home surrounded by trees, streams, rocks and plants. He occasionally ventures out into the outside world.

This is a complete avatar, with custom elf skin, modifiable shape, hair, eyes, outfit, genitals, elf ears and lance weapon.

I’ve created a Halloween Goblin complete avatar. He’s adorable! As a special Halloween Gift, I am setting him for sale at $1 L rather than my usual male fantasy avatar price of $2500L.

The complete Goblin avatar comes with a custom Goblin skin, shape, fantasy eyes, goblin ears, horns, scripted tail, and outfit. All items are copy/mod, except for the skin, which is copy only.

Atea Avatars is proud to announce that we will be moving our store to Lethe which is part of the Isle of Wyrms on Saturday September 11th. Atea Avatars has long been a frequent visitor to the Isle of Wyrms, home to the majestic dragon avatars by Daryth Kennedy. The Isle of Wyrms is the premier dragon centered community in Second Life, with 2500 citizens comprised of dragons and their friends in a medieval fantasy setting. The Isle of Wyrms is all species friendly, with PG community standards. All are made to feel welcome in the friendly atmosphere, and there are lots of wonderful places to explore.

The new store designed by Gwen Carillon is a magnificent fantasy structure, and sits in the beautiful surroundings of Lethe on the Isle of Wyrms continent.

This is also the weekend of the Isle of Wyrms Autumn Celestial Celebrations Festival with many events from Sept. 10th-12th, including live concerts, dance parties, games, competitions, Dragon Rides and the Isle of Wyrms Charity Auction to benefit St. Tiggywinkle’s Wildlife Hospital in the UK. The festival culminates in the formal dragon Hatching Ceremonies in Cathedral on Saturday, 25th September.

Moehau is a drow/faery hybrid, born of a drow father and a fae mother. Her mother is Mahana Dawn, a magnificent faery queen of elegant lavendar and purple hues:

Her father is a distinguished elder drow known as Manava.

Moehau is Tahitian for “peaceful sleep” or “peaceful dreams”.

Mere is fun and friendly, and a little shy. She likes to visit the lovely fae at the Faery Crossing, dances with elves in the Elvenglen Market, is curious about the secret realms of Metatheria, and has been know to ride dragons from the Isle of Wyrms.
